My Project
At UAI we believe every that student deserves the opportunity to thrive, not just academically but emotionally and physically as well.
As a teacher, I see firsthand the challenges many of my amazing students face both in and out of the classroom because they lack essential items.
Too often, students miss school completely or come and are unable to meet their full potential because they lack essential personal hygiene products, clean clothes or food. That’s why I’m passionate about creating a needs pantry—a place where students can discreetly access essential items whenever they need them. This pantry will provide hygiene supplies, and other necessities to help my students feel safe, supported, and ready to succeed in school.
Even small available items, like a bar of soap or a toothbrush make a huge difference in the lives of students who may be struggling. By ensuring their basic needs are met, I can help them focus on what’s important—learning, growing, and achieving their dreams. A fully stocked needs pantry will not only meet immediate needs but will also send a message to my students that their school is a place of care and support. When students know they are cared for, they can focus on their education and personal growth.
