This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The color printer that I am requesting will help me to provide color coded schedules, calendars and visual aids for my special education classroom. Research has consistently shown that color increases memory retention better than verbal or textual cues alone. As a team, we rely heavily on visual aids to communicate activities, tasks and directions, as well as, improve student engagement. Visual supports can also be helpful in managing behavior and reducing anxiety as students transition between activities, schedules, or setting.
There are three basic learning styles: Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic.
Children with developmental disabilities are often visual learners. A color printer can help us to make ideas and concepts more concrete and aid in the recall of verbal information.
