Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a 4th grade bilingual teacher who has 20 students, all who are English Language Learners and among them are two diverse learners. Fourth grade room 108 comes to school with a positive attitude and ready to learn everyday. One subject area my students and I are working on developing is writing. Our first unit was a narrative unit, my students developed very detailed stories. We are eager to grow even more in reading, writing and math. With the help of DonorsChoose I am hoping to add a printer to print students writing and add an easel to my classroom which I would use during my mini-lessons.
My Project
Room 108 is in need of a printer, the printed work would help liven up the classroom and my students learning. Kids love to print their work on the computer, because it makes them take pride in their work. Having a new color printer would give the children in my class the opportunity to add pictures to stories they type whether they are fiction or nonfiction stories. This would then make the students work harder on their work. Furthermore, fourth grade also writes two opinion pieces, a color printer would allow me to print and display these pieces as well. This new printer would give the children an opportunity to type their stories and pictures.
