This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My idea of a successful technology lesson or techonology activity in my math classroom: all students have charged Chromebooks and scientific calculators, and I'm able to stand at the back of the room with my laptop and any lesson materials then see all of my students' screens. Well, that isn't reality.

Students don't always have charged Chromebooks and so they have to switch seats with another student in order to sit closer to an electrical outlet.

This small problem impacts premade partner/table groups, forces students to give up their seats to those who need to charge Chromebooks, and ends up delaying our whole group start time for a lesson or activity. Extension cords with multiple outlets would be an easy fix.

The benefit of having a mobile desk would allow me to stand at the back of the class, with any lesson materials or my own laptop, and be able to easily view all of my students' screens while they work on an assignment or activity. My teacher desk is currently at the front of the classroom, and so multiple times during technology days, I'll have to get up & walk the classroom to see all students are productive and are following along on their Chromebooks.

Lastly, I'm requesting for scientific calculators. This year I have full class sizes and so I no longer have enough calculators for each of my students. I have 36 students in a class period but less than 30 calculators. So far, I've had students share the calculators and work together on assignments this school year. However, this won't be ideal when I have to give a test and each student will need a calculator.

I'm grateful for any consideration to donating to this project. My math students will appreciate it and so will I!
