My Project

Many students at my school are unfortunately facing financial hardships at home. This project would help me make the classroom a fun and exciting place that the students will look forward to coming to everyday to learn more about STEM and the careers that they could pursue in the future. Our students would use the items in this project to create world's in which they are tasked with creating a world that citizens can thrive in. Throughout the project they will have to find ways to pay bills (math connection), write laws for the citizens to keep them safe (social studies connection), engineer attractions to draw in citizens (science and technology connection), and then reflect on their creations through a letter to their future self (language arts connection). Along the way, I will be able to use their creations to teach the content in new and exciting ways.
