Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Pre-K is all about building independence. Typically, in a classroom, teachers are the ones observing and documenting. This year, I'd like to give my students the opportunity to document their own lives and the things that they observe on the daily, especially when we go on walking field trips.
With the cameras, our students will be able to take photos and record videos of those things that interest them, including their observations.
Every child is different and I'd like to give each student an opportunity to let their personalities shine through photography. This in turn also allows students to build some independence and foster growth. They get the chance to build their own narratives. At the end of the year, each student will have their own slideshow with a compilation of photos taken throughout the year.
