Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach at a wonderful school filled with newcomer students who just came to Unite States and are eager to learn. We, unfortunately, do not have air conditioning on campus. This last summer, my classroom routinely reached over 100 degrees by my last class of the day. Students were unable to focus, fell asleep, and left school early because of the incredibly high temperature in the classroom.
My classroom is not a sustainable learning environment during the summer months as it frequently reaches over 100 degrees without air conditioning.
Please help me give my students a cool classroom environment during the hottest summer months so that they can learn in a welcoming and cool environment in their new country with an air conditioner.
