My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income school district. My students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite these challenges they face, they still want to learn and succeed. My students deserve every opportunity to do just that! Many of my students' families do not have the money to buy school supplies for them at all. This is why I am writing to ask for your help. I am teaching a group of 5th-grade students and some of which are below grade level due to not only COVID but their life circumstances.

My Project

My students have been begging for dry erase erasers for in-class activities so they no longer have to use paper towels. We use dry erase markers for computation practice, warm-ups, and quick checks throughout our lesson. For some reason using a pencil for work is boring but using dry erase markers doing the same activity makes things way more fun!

I could really use staple removers to prepare the classroom at the end of the year when testing begins because we are required to remove anchor charts.

Line readers to help my struggling readers. Students LOVE these to help themselves keep their place during read-aloud and silent reading alike. The color overlays make it more fun for some students to participate and can also help dyslexia students de-code while reading.

I would like a label maker to help us organize our materials and stations.
