My elementary school students come to school with a range of abilities. Our students include a number of ENL and exceptional learners. As a special education teacher, I focus on what each student can do and what makes them unique instead of focusing on their challenges. Then, I target each students specific need and we work toward obtaining their goals. Whether teaching remotely or if we have the opportunity to return to our classrooms I want to keep improving my teaching by furthering my educational development in the area of reading and math. These are areas that effect many children in their ability to remain confident students. I am a passionate teacher by helping my students achieve each milestone in the most positive environment.
My Project
Each student will work in small groups and consistently meet to practice language development and reading. Having the appropriate guided reading books at hand help facilitate a more conducive working environment for both myself and my students. Being provided with materials on hand will enable me to have more time to develop targeted and creative lessons that engage each student. Students that experience new and creative lessons tend to desire being in the classroom (whether remote or in person) and help create wonderful life long learners. We can’t wait to get started and free up more time for professional growth!
