We are a new theatre program at a 7-12 school. Our school has a beautiful auditorium that is just now beginning to see the kinds of things that students can produce. My students are creative, excited, and can't wait to learn new theatrical techniques.
Unfortunately, the lighting equipment we have been blessed with is not physically accessible due to its permanent position at the top of the ceiling.
With the moving headlight and DMX controller, I want my kids to have hands-on experience with lighting equipment and simple lighting boards to be prepared for success if they continue in college.
I plan to teach the students how to connect these fixtures, program the board, and use them as auxiliary lighting for our fall musical.
