My Project

My goal is to create a warm welcoming environment for my students. The Lahaina community went through tragedy at the beginning of the school year and since then everyone has been trying to get get back to normal. These students are tough and resilient. They should see school as a safe haven, a place where they don't have to think about or worry about the things going on in their life.

Students need a place where they can find comfort.

Having snacks the students enjoy will help those who may need an extra boost of energy during the day or who don't have easy access to food. Comfortable and flexible seating will help students focus. I also want to bring music and art into the classroom. Sometimes the students need a break and a creative outlet. These kids are such great artists!
