it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I remember the first time my own children printed their story they wrote. They were very excited and proud. I want that same excitement in my classroom for my students. Unfortunately, we don't have a printer in the classroom that would enable them to print their creations.
I am a kindergarten teacher with 24 enthusiastic learners.
Eighty percent of my students receive free or reduced lunch. Our school is a Title 1 school. Everyday my students come to school ready to learn no matter what challenges they might have at home or in the community. I have very supportive families that want the best education for their child. My students have very limited access to technology so I believe we need to provide it in the schools. Printers and printer cartridges are very costly so I know most of my students don't have printers and/or computers at home.
My Project
Having a printer in the classroom will help my students tremendously. Right now we go to the computer lab once a week for half an hour. Our school funds are low so our kindergarteners are not allowed to print in the computer lab. I think my students would enjoy printing their work and taking it home to show their parents. I do not have a printer in my classroom. If I want to print something for my students I have to email it to myself and print it from home. I think having a printer in the classroom would really motivate the students because they would see their work on the computer then we could print it instantly. It would encourage them to write stories and illustrate them so we could publish them. They can also make their own math problems so I can print them and then they can have their classmates solve them. With the printer, I will be able to make colored copies so it will really bring their stories and math problems to life.
A printer is a very basic and essential part of today's world.
I think my students will be fascinated that they can print their projects that they created on the computer. It also enables them to take it home and share it with their family. It will definitely motivate them to write and publish. With your help and support, I hope to make this wish come true for me and my wonderful students.
