My students need a set of biographies on CD's to be engaged in reading activities during social studies, as well as a teaching easel for small group activities.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have exceptional needs. They are within the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and face many challenges every day of their young lives. I have 6 students who enjoy social studies and what better way than to incorporate social studies with books on Cd's.
My students live in a low income community with limited resources.
Due to the economic crisis our school district is facing, it has been a challenge for me, as their teacher, to provide instruction during social studies that peak their interest. My students enjoy listening to stories. What better way to engage them than with Cd's on tape.
My Project
The resources I am requesting will engage each and everyone of my students now, as well as future students for years to come. The books on tape are a great resource for my class. The easel will allow me to provide small group instruction to have high participation in my class. Due to my students disabilities, they require special attention and unique ways of teaching them. With these items, my students will be able to be active participants in the lessons.
I would like to thank you in advance for choosing our project.
Thanks to your generosity, my students will be able to have resources to better fit their needs. The easel will allow me to instruct my students in small group settings, not only in social studied but also reading, math and science.
