This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most (90%) of our wonderful students live below or near the poverty line. About 60% of our students are learning English in school. Sometimes, our school struggles to get the resources we need to teach and care for our incredible students. This makes the job of a school even more important.

Many students we teach experience poverty, but that's just where they are starting.

Our students love to create art and read. They write computer codes and even perform Shakespeare. They have big dreams, but they need to work hard now. Help them reach for those dreams!

My Project

The kids in my class like math, but I want them to love it. The problem is mastering math takes a lot of work.

But, with your help kids will have a huge box of math tools to help them with tricky concepts like multiplication and fractions!

These math tools will transform our class. You are sending us multiplication dice, a place value bingo, math pocket charts, and multiplication games. We can ditch the repetitive worksheets and let kids learn with hands-on lessons. They will be able to truly understand math instead of just memorizing steps. It is so important for kids to see themselves as mathematicians when they are young. With your help, we can do just that!
