My Students

I teach in a rural school district that serves primarily low income and at-risk students. We are a Title I school. I am looking to provide my young students with experiences to increase their literacy. My students would be able to build on their word recognition and develop a deeper love of learning with your help. My students love books and reading. Michigan has a new law that all students must be at grade level in reading by third grade. Students need a strong foundation to be able to accomplish this.

My Project

Young students love to hear someone read to them, but they also love to be independent. A new listening center will allow them to hear a book as they look at the words on the pages. This will help them improve their reading and reading scores. Students can improve their reading skills by looking at a book while listening to it being read to them. Your donation will help them with this. My kindergarten students will appreciate your donation to their listening center and a decent storage area to hold the newly donated classroom items. My school is a Title I school with many low income and at-risk students.
