My Students

I will be teaching 13 incredible, loving, unique 4th through 6th graders with a variety of special needs in a self contained classroom.

The main goal for all of the students is to become as independent as possible and to be able to advocate for themselves.

This can be a difficult task for elementary students, but when they are given the correct tools and right amount of encouragement, they can reach their full potential.

I know that my students will be able to succeed this year, but with a few extra tools they will be able to soar!

My Project

My students have a variety of special needs and I have found that using a document camera increases during instruction increases their ability to learn. By being able to clearly see what the teacher is writing, cutting, gluing, etc., the students have an easier time keeping up with the rest of the class.

My class had a document camera for the 2017-2018 school year, but because I moved to a new classroom, we do not have one anymore.

My students have asked me why we do not have a document camera anymore as well as express their want for one. Once my students expressed their want of a document camera within the first three days of school, I knew that I needed to get my hands on one!

Not only do I find document cameras extremely beneficial, but so do my students.
