This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students have difficult time staying organized. Remember when your teacher tells you to put your papers away and not to lose it because we will work on it later and when later comes your paper is lost or ripped. What a horrible feeling. That is why my students need a mailbox.
I teach a wonderfully diverse 2nd grade class.
It is a team teaching class in a high needs community public school in the south Bronx. The students range from intervention to enrichment. Some of the students read at a kindergarten level. One thing that they have in common is that they love to work. Unfortunately they are not organized which makes it impossible for them to keep track of their work. With a mailbox they will be able to successfully finish their work
My Project
My students need a place where they can put important information and not worry that it will get lost or destroyed. A mailbox can help make parent communication flow smoothly. It is also a private area in which I could send notes home and grades. It is also a great way for children to learn how to become responsible. My students work place will become organized which will help them learn.
A mailbox will make a difference in the way my students learn.
They will become organized and responsible for their work. It will enable them to have an area of their own and not to worry about losing their work.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
