My Students

I am a first-year teacher in first grade at a Title 1 school. You can imagine what that means for the children that attend our school. A majority of students in our school are on reduced lunch and do not have access to technology at home. Thankfully, our district aims to provide our children with as much as they can. In the classroom, we have chrome books, a handful of Ipads and a few computers that they are able to utilize. My students love to explore, utilize their mind, and creativity.

My Project

My littles have a hard time keeping still and these wobble chairs will provide them with a way to move while seated. Wobble chairs have been shown to help with focus and increased learning. While I teach whole group near the SmartBoard my students spend time in their seats writing, working on math centers, and other school assignments. While seated, they tend to wiggle, lean over, or get up from their seats quite a bit. The donation of wobble chairs will provide my children with learning disabilities a chance to exude their restlessness and provide a way for them to focus for longer periods of time.
