This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I work at a STEM magnet middle school in Indiana. This means that my students chose to come to our school to learn more about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
My seventh and eighth graders come from all around the city to form a community where we focus on our core values of rigor, community, relationships, and drive.
My students come from diverse cultures and experiences, and some overcome significant obstacles to succeed at our school. In their two short years with us, they come in as young pre-teens and develop into teenagers prepared to flourish in high school!
My Project
I am requesting a small fan and an office chair to set up in the back of my room for when students need a little extra help staying cool and comfortable. I have multiple different seating options in my room to offer to students as a break from their desks with their computers. I'd love to be able to set this station up for students who are sleepy because the cool air will help keep them awake! Thank you for any contribution you are able to provide to make this a possibility for my middle school students!!
