During COVID-19, many students in my elementary classes went through a wide variety of emotions that really impacted their social skills. Now they are starting their middle school band journey and over the course of the year, have seen how staying in music impacts them. They find music to be their escape when they are struggling at home. It is amazing to see how far they will push themselves in band to become successful. The music stands will help accommodate the growing number of students in our program, and the percussion instruments will help make sure my young percussionists have quality materials to perform on as well as be able to play a wider range of repertoire.
