This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help keep our bikes and outdoor toys safe! Storage for outdoor materials will create longevity for the toys allowing for use by students, present and future. The last thing we want our preschoolers to see is another wagon or bike broken and strewn across their play yard.

Our preschool class is on the campus of an elementary school (K-5) which gives us the opportunity to see the older children when they are outside at recess.

My class is a preschool for children with special needs. They enjoy playing with friends and active play outside. My classes each year tend to have a large number of boys, so we make it a goal each year to give the children experiences that will channel their energy positively while learning to play cooperatively with each other, taking turns, and building a solid foundation of social and learning skills prior to entering kindergarten.

My Project

We are requesting a storage shed that will be big enough to store the bikes, easel, and other outdoor materials that will not fit in the current shed we have. It will make a difference because it will preserve the toys from weathering and rusting as opposed to if the bikes stayed outside throughout the rain. Another active sport for preschool children I would like to introduce is floor hockey. It promotes hand-eye coordination as well as teamwork at an early age. With the sticks, pucks and net, the children will have the opportunity to build gross motor skills.

This project is important to our classroom because it gives us the opportunity to preserve the materials for this year and future classes to use and play with our toys and materials.

This donation will make a difference because we will have more storage space for our bikes, wagons, and outdoor games to keep them dry and ideally preventing breaking from other causes besides natural wear and tear.
