I teach math and science to about 50 fifth graders in Massachusetts. My students live in an urban area where most are low income. They are children of working-class parents, foster parents, and immigrants.
Their backgrounds are diverse, but they all demonstrate a love of learning.
They have dreams of growing up to become what they see in textbooks, children's books, television, or movies. I hope to expand their dreams with the resources I provide in the classroom.
My Project
There are so many supplies that go into keeping a classroom running. One that often gets overlooked is the cleaning and sanitary items to make sure everyone stays healthy and happy! I am requesting a donation for antibacterial wipes, facial tissues, and hand sanitizer from my students' families, but the items usually are usually not enough to supply us for the entire school year.
Please donate so that we have disinfectant and cleaning materials to keep our classroom clean and healthy!
We use these items every day and my families often do not have the resources to provide them for our room. My class will be more comfortable and I will be able to teach them clean and safe habits for staying healthy during the cold and flu season.
