My Students
Our school is located in an area where most students come from households that are economically disadvantaged and more than 80% of our students speak English as a second language. Our school is a Title I school and our students depend highly on school funding for basic necessities. Due to the economic status of our community, all students receive free breakfast and lunch meals.
My students are so passionate about learning about math and science and we try to provide them with the best learning experience possible.
This year, we will have to rely heavily on technology and small group learning (with social distancing). Due to new safety guidelines, it is important that my students have access to the proper supplies and safety materials to feel safe and healthy in the classroom. With these materials and supplies, students will be helping friends, family and the community stay safe while learning about how their actions affect others. They will take these practices home and hopefully teach their family to practice safe measures as well. Please help support my students in this new learning environment.
My Project
This project will allow my students to have access to PPE materials and stay as safe and healthy as possible. I would like to make my students feel like they are learning in a safe, clean and healthy environment. This will teach students about maintaining a healthy and clean learning environment and it will teach them about taking care of themselves as well as others (friends and family).
Unfortunately, our school has not been able to fund PPE materials and school supplies for students in need.
I am asking for donations for basic school supplies and PPE materials such as face masks, sanitizer, permanent markers, calculators, plastic face shields, disposable masks and pencil sharpeners. My goal is for all or my students to have their own, personal supplies, as sharing supplies is not ideal during this time. Please help our class and students feel safe this year!
