This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a very talented and diverse group who are energized to learn and continue learning how to play their instruments. Our school places the performing arts high on its priority list because of the positive impact that they can have on students' academic and social lives. These students want to grow as musicians and attain a high level of performance. Help my students reach their full potential in band and orchestra by having instruments that work. Anybody who has ever had a car or other equipment that didn't work well knows how frustrating it can be. Help us make music!
My Project
Anybody who has ever played any kind of instrument knows it can be frustrating when you don't have the proper equipment. We need a percussion cabinet for our growing inventory of equipment to help students learn how to store and properly care for our percussion equipment. Without a dedicated place to store this equipment there is a greater risk of things going missing or breaking. Along with our growing percussion instrument inventory, we're adding new music that needs to be stored in music envelopes so it can be played again. Additionally, we need a shop vacuum to help take ownership of our space and keep it clean. Once we have this equipment, my students will be able to develop their skills and perform at a higher level than they would have previously been able to do. Your donation will help students, across multiple grade levels, reach their full potential in band and orchestra.
