I work with preschool age students (ages 3-5), including Early Childhood Special Education students. For many of them, this is their first exposure to school and to learning. They all bring a different perspective to the classroom and come with a wide range of abilities and goals. Watching them meet goals and make progress is rewarding on a daily basis. These students enjoy hands on activities and are starting to learn how to be independent. We love to learn and have fun at the same time.
Artwork and creativity are important aspects of preschool. It is frustrating to watch my students put their energy in to a project, only to have it misplaced or stuck to another student’s project. We try to have the art table open several times a week during centers. Painting is a popular art table activity, including finger painting! Having a drying rack would help protect their artwork, allowing it to properly dry before sending it home to be put on display by proud parents and grandparents. We also like to make parent gifts for various holidays. Help us encourage our students to engage in art!
