Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There are 13 students in my 1st Grade ICT blended learning classroom. My students are from low-income families. Many of the students have limited resources at home. Most of the students rely on school resources to learn their academics. Parents often borrow supplies from the school and classrooms to further assist their children's education at home.

Many students have IEPs, special services, ​and ENL services.

Since our students have a variety of needs, we want to create a welcoming and warm environment for our students to learn in. Our students benefit from routines and organization so they can be comfortable and ready to learn.

My Project

Since NYC schools are still open to help families who need to work or can't help their students' learning at home, we want to keep our students and teachers safe! We are learning in a blended learning environment which means we are in our classroom for half a week and learning at home for half a week.

While we are in school, the safety measures are not making us feel safe.

We have socially distanced our tables but since we have a large number of students, our students are still very close to each other. We need to have plastic dividers to prevent the spread of germs through talking. We also need child friendly cleaners such as baby wipes and disinfectant sprays so the students can keep clean without harmful chemicals.
