My Project

I am an experienced band teacher and I lead over 500+ students in the band each year. Under my supervision, students participate in jazz, ensemble, orchestra, and marching band, and perform for our local community. Each year, my students struggle with keeping their music at hand when encountering the weather. They have sheets of music that get lost, misplaced, and fly off during windy days. If I were to be able to provide them with an iPad to keep their music on (and protective cases to keep them safe), they would be able to play music more efficiently and effectively. They will not have to battle the wind and elements during concerts for our community.

High school is such a challenging time for so many, and music in education is the only way that some students feel supported while in high school.

As a band, we are supportive of each other. It gives so many students a place to fit in and belong. If I could provide them with these iPads to use during band, I could more easily assign them videos of exemplary performances. They could record themselves playing to see their strengths and areas needed to improve. We would be able to compete at not only the local levels that we have been doing but also at the state and national levels as well.

It is my goal to make my band room a place where all students belong and can be successful. Would you consider helping me achieve this goal?
