Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My ELL tenth-grade students are all recent immigrants who are learning English as their second, third, or even fourth language. My students are from more than 20 countries and speak more than six different languages.
My students are amazing recent immigrants who work part-time jobs, take care of family members, play sports and attend our after-school programs.
Every day, my students read their independent reading books and have monthly book club discussions. As students become avid readers, our classroom library needs to expand!
My Project
Our high school students and staff are excited to return to our school building full-time and in person. Unfortunately, our 100-year-old school building still does not have a HVAC system, and the Delta variant is showing that air exchange is still extremely important in the classroom and the community.
Your donation of two air purifiers will allow my students to focus on their learning and feel comfortable in a safe classroom.
These two new air purifiers will allow there to be more exchanges of air as students start a new school year.
