This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of my students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and face daily challenges that go far beyond the classroom. When they're unsure about their work or afraid it won’t be good enough, they often “lose” it—sometimes on purpose, sometimes by accident—because it feels safer than risking failure.

This project gives them a secure, personal folder they don’t have to take home, so their efforts are safe from loss, damage, or judgment.

With everything stored in an organized rack at school, they can build confidence in their work one page at a time. The included index cards will be for creative prompts that turn analytical writing into exciting projects they’re proud to complete, like miniature posters.

With your support, they’ll have a safe place not just to store their papers, but to grow as thinkers and writers.
