My students need a teaching easel so that I can use it as a tool to encourage more learning on the carpet.

I have a very diverse group of first grade students who love to read. I believe that is what makes my class so great. I have twenty-nine amazing students who come in every morning ready to learn and share their ideas with each other. Our classroom is a place where the joy of learning is instilled in every child. We celebrate growth, track progress, and set goals.
My first graders are enthusiastic learners who work hard everyday learning to become great readers!
My school is a Title I school, and approximately 84% of its students receive free lunch. The neighborhood contains one of New York City's largest public housing developments, and most of my students reside there. Many of our students only have exposure to books at school. Although these students face many life challenges, I strive to build their love of reading through providing many learning opportunities. We are interested in learning in new ways in order to keep us engaged and enriching our experiences.
We need a quality easel for read alouds, whole group and collaborative writing lessons in our first grade classroom. I would like to use the Easel for whole group, small group and one-on-one instruction. I am so excited to see what my kids can do with more tools to be able to use in the classroom to enhance their learning and expand their knowledge.
Students love being able to use an easel, and it truly makes them feel special because they are allowed to use something of the teacher's.
This year we have an easel that is completely falling apart held up with tape and half the wheels did not work making it difficult to move around the room. My first grade students will use this easel for whole group and some small group work. They will read big books on it, collaborate on math problems using the dry erase area, and do shared writing. It is extremely important for students to have an easel that allows them to view guided lessons in order to better collaborate with their peers. It will also allow our students to come up during whole group lessons and access the dry erase board or big books on the easel. It would increase whole group collaboration and help our students model for each other, which is a wonderful way to help them grow and learn.
I am excited to use an easel that can move and students can write on. This would mean the world to my students and myself and help so much.
