Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The 2024-2025 school year will be my first as the Yearbook Advisor on my campus of about 2500 students. In the past, our school's yearbook has been satisfactory, but I have a plan for making it OUTSTANDING!

This camera and the accessories are the key to taking our yearbook to a whole new level!

I have students of all age ranges in my two Yearbook classes; some have one year of experience, and the others have none! I need a camera that will be easy for the 9th graders to use as they hone their photography skills and really learn the tricks and techniques. Yearbook photography is challenging as students have to take pictures of sports events where there is a lot of action, pep rallies, in-class activities, and special events on campus like Homecoming. This requires a camera that is easy to use and suitable for use in all of those situations. The extras that come with this camera are what will add to its versatility--the tripod, the lens, the bag--all of this will enable students to be in the gym, on the field, or on campus taking their pictures.

Our goal is to include 80% of our student body at least twice in the Yearbook...that's 2000 students, so that is a lot of photographs!

I am super excited for what lies ahead for our Yearbook. I don't know about you, but I graduated in 1990, and my yearbook is a time capsule that I love to revisit. I want to help my students re-create that for our school!
