Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school serves a high number of socially and economically disadvantaged students. Most of my students qualify for free lunch in school. My fifth-grade class is very diverse in their academics. They range from far below basic to advance levels. Some are students with special needs and accommodations and others are students who need enrichment. Some are English Language Learners while others are fluent in the English language. But they are all eager for an education; however, the lack of resources prevents them from getting motivated and truly showcase their talents.
Many of my students have a variety of hardships at home, but at school, I try to make it a positive place where they can grow, learn, and be successful.
They come to school with big dreams, and I want to provide the best learning environment for them.
My Project
Having a limited amount of xerox paper or simply running out of it often delays and discourages my students' learning, especially, if they have been working hard on projects, reports, essays, and letters in different subject areas such as Social Studies, Science, English Language Arts, Writing and Math.
My students like to showcase their work with pride!
They want to print their final products but our monthly xerox paper request is limited. I often find the need to purchase my own paper to provide for my students. Having xerox paper available at all times will allow me to provide the resources necessary to my students.
