I am fortunate to work in an inquiry-based preschool program that supports and encourages children's natural sense of curiosity and wonder. We continuously shape our curriculum based on students' interests, questions and ideas. We believe in the value of experiential, project-based learning.
Our students spend a great deal of time both indoors and outdoors, investigating, creating, constructing and imagining.
They are encouraged to share their thoughts, questions and ideas with others. We strive to nurture our students' individual and collective talents and interests.
My Project
The meeting area is the epicenter of our classroom.
This is where we listen to stories, have discussions, sing songs, read poems and take our movement breaks.
I would like to make my meeting area more comfortable and inviting by adding a soft and colorful alphabet rug.
For this project, I am asking for your help in funding a rug for our classroom. I have selected an alphabetical carpet that is perfect for Pre-K! This rug will allow each student to have their own personal space in the meeting area. We need this rug so that every student has room to be the best they can be!
Children will use this rug every day and for years to come! Our students will feel more comfortable sitting on a soft rug versus the tile floor. Thank you for supporting our classroom!
Also, a modern day classroom cannot function without a computer and printer. Our printer is used every day, for a variety of purposes which directly support our students' learning.
A working printer is essential to our classroom. We use our printer to print pictures of things we find on journeys, display our creations when we use materials that we cannot take home and to show students how much things have changed in our environment.
