Help me give my students access to the most important skill of all. Empower our struggling readers by allowing access to systematic phonics practice to supplement our literacy curriculum that lacks depth in this domain.
Students who struggle with reading in third grade and do not meet benchmark by the end of the year are found to struggle in many ways throughout their educational and personal life. Please help me prevent this trend by providing access to phonics practice (workbooks, phonics centers, games) that meets them at their level and allows them to take on the challenges of reading with enthusiasm and confidence. Your generosity will allow me to support struggling readers in my third grade classroom by providing tools for literacy center practice, independent practice and at home practice. With this more supportive foundation, reading will become more accessible and we can effectively fill the gap between current reading levels and grade level benchmark.
