Help Give us a Learning Boost! A Chromebook Boost!
My students need access to the many benefits of Google classroom. Although most of my students come from difficult and challenging situations they give more than 100% when they are at school!
My students may not come from the greatest homes or have a wealth of experiences, but they do give 100% plus when they come to school. We talk about challenges and how to face them. We talk about staying positive no matter what our situations. We are always learning from each other. To see the smiles on the faces of my students daily makes me one lucky person. It makes me proud to see the resiliency in my students that come from challenging backgrounds.
For most of my students, school is the place where they gain experiences and feel safe.
My students attend an inner-city school that has Pre-K through 5th graders. Most of the student come from diverse backgrounds and struggle academically. School is a place where they are able to learn about technology, as most students have no internet access at home.
My Project
Our classroom is in need of 6 ChromeBooks to help boost up the learning we have going on! The current technology is limited. We are working towards using Google classroom more frequently. The addition of 6 ChromeBooks would allow more students to access assignments in our Google classroom. It would allow me as a teacher to utilize the many benefits Goole classroom has to offer. For example, students will be able to learn how to create slide shows and Google documents. These types of activities make learning fun and exciting! Because the majority of my students come from a high poverty level district, school is the only opportunity to utilize the web as well as something as simple as a Word document. Having ChromeBooks where students can access assignments via Google classroom that are specific to their learning ability is also key to a student' s success.
