Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials that I am requesting for my students will support them so much in my classroom. The noise-cancelling headphones would be monumental for my students when they are taking the required diagnostic and state testing which are done on the computer. Most of my students have the "text to speech" accommodation on their IEP, so having noise-cancelling headphones with the wire will allow my students to take their test with minimal distractions.

I know my students would love the chair bands and sensory strips because they would help them calm down and focus during instruction.

I have many students who benefit greatly from these types of supports and manipulatives so I know my students would greatly appreciate these items in the classroom.

Lastly, the calculators would help my students access the 6th-grade curriculum better by helping them solve challenging problems. Currently, my students are working with old calculators that have missing buttons. I know that these calculators would help my students be successful and more confident.
