My Project
My student with autism spectrum disorder with very limited verbal communication ability with many of her speech being unintelligible requires an iPad as an AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) device.
This iPad will provide her a voice by using programs that allow her to express her needs and wants.
With this device, she will be able to indicate by selecting icons that she needs help, wants more time, a break, go to the restroom, request for specific items, etc. This will allow her to effectively and meaningfully communicate with others.
