My Students

I teach a middle school across 4 grades which comprises over 360 students. We are constantly expanding our instrumentation and music library. My students are highly enthusiastic about learning how to play a musical instrument and are dedicated learners of several different styles of music.

My students are a responsible lot who respects personal and school property.

My students form a diverse group of students from various socioeconomic backgrounds and are ethnically diverse.

Our middle school is the second largest school in the district and contains over 850 students.

My Project

Teaching over 360 middle school band students is one of the greatest thrills in my career. With this many students, we have almost every instrument covered. However, it is difficult attaining the more expensive lower-voiced instruments such as the bass clarinet. Bass clarinet adds a dark, warm sound to the group and makes performances really stand out. Asking families raising children to rent such an instrument is unreasonable as they are incredibly expensive. Asking a middle school to pay for such an expense is also unreasonable due to the sheer amount of students we have to support in other academic areas. Please help me give my band kids the best musical experience we can!
