Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school district utilizes Toolbox Learning to support student development of social emotional regulation. We are also working hard to reflect in our class literature the many beautiful cultures and ethnic identities that we serve as educators. All Kindergarten through Fifth Grade classes at our school will be outfitted with a collection of culturally responsive books for supporting life skill and SEL lessons.

The literacy selections celebrate ethnic and cultural diversity, reflects children with unique identities, and showcases the power of using one's voice to create change!

By providing these books to all of our classes at our school, we will create a shared understanding of the themes presented in an effort to cultivate a school-wide climate of appreciation of the diversity that makes us unique. These books will also give a valuable access point to teachers to reinforce Toolbox and Life skills connections for all learners.
