Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have chosen to come to the ACE - the Alternative Center for Excellence - for many reasons, but all have come for a second chance at excelling in their studies and in their growth as young adults. They come with barriers and blocks to literacy. It is my passion to break those blocks and to instill in them a love for reading, writing and language study. Our annual poetry coffee house is a culminating showcase that shares their talents and their individual voices.
Please help me give my students an exciting Sun, Surf, and Sand experience at our 21st Annual Tropical Paradise Poetry Coffee House Event.
Please help us fund our 21st Annual Sun and Surf Coffee House where we will rhyme and dine in a tropical paradise. Your donations will go towards decorations and paper goods.
Our Coffee House is an annual event held in the early evening at Hatters Park in Danbury CT. This year's event is on Thursday, June 6th from 5:30PM to 7:30PM. All students and alumni are welcome to perform original poetry and music. We also invite ACE families and friends. Our event is an outreach to families and the community.
We serve light fare and refreshments and print-up programs and posters. There will be a separate Donorschoose for printing and food.
