Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a brand-new teacher, fresh out of college, I understand the importance of a diverse, inclusive, class library. However, funding such a library is difficult on a limited budget. I have scoured all local sales, thrift stores, and donation bins; however, I am still coming up short on literature that represents my students, most of whom are from low income families and are people of color.
I want to show my students that reading is for everyone and that everyone has a place in the books we read!
Your donation would help demonstrate that as a truth in my classroom.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
