My Students

My students are curious, eager learners who thrive with novel, authentic activities in the classroom. They are hard-working students who are learning in two languages. This year, they've grown into a collaborative group that shares the love of learning. They are very supportive of one another, sharing their ideas and feedback with each other to promote growth and improvement.

In this class, my students have been working diligently in attaining the four skills that will prepare them for the 21st century: critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity.

With limited access to technology at home, I am providing opportunities for them in my classroom.

My Project

Visuals are very important in a young child's learning. I have come to rely on a projector to support my lessons, and it has made a difference in my students' learning. My current projector is an old model and needs to be replaced. More and more of my students are exclaiming, "It's hard to see!"

A projector is a classroom necessity that helps me address the needs of the whole child.

It has been beneficial in showing videos and songs that help my first grade students learn grammar rules and math facts. For science, I can easily show an image or video of a phenomena to inspire students to participate in science investigations. When we have inclement weather, I use the projector to help promote movement in the classroom with guided dance videos and physical education instruction. These are just a few examples of the many ways a projector is an important tool to have in my classroom.
