My 4th grade students love math activities. My class is filled with 9 and 10 year olds who love to be engaged in science, technology, engineering, and math exploration. Our school is located in Draper, Utah. I would like to give my students more opportunities to increase their creativity.
By participating in math activities, my students build resilience, teamwork, and experimentation.
Students who participate in math activities learn problem-solving skills that foster responsibility.
We live in a technology based society, so students who participate in STEM activities are better able to stay current and innovative in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields. If I have math kits available in my classroom, I can give my students opportunities to be exposed to these areas of innovation.
My Project
If my math project is funded, I'll be able to provide my students with engaging, hands-on math activities like flashcards and games each week in class. The focus on math as a part of STEM has significantly increased across all grade levels.
I want my students to be life-long learners.
Math is an important part of being a life-long learner. If my project is funded, I can give my students opportunities to explore math-related concepts. When students have these math opportunities, they can possibly develop a passion for it. If students have a passion for math at an early age, they will be able to take advantage of the numerous possibilities in the future.
