My students need engaging reading materials that are on their level! They need to have large libraries of reading to explore and learn.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school has a very supportive community. Our parents are actively involved and are continually seeking ways to help their children learn more. My students are a unique group with diverse abilities. One thing they all have in common is they love learning with the use of technology!
Outstanding young readers and writers with outstanding potential abound in my classroom this year!
I am the proud teacher of 90 wonderful 8th grade literacy students from incredibly diverse backgrounds. Over 80% of our school's population are English learners and considered "economically disadvantaged."
In addition to their learning English as a Second Language, many of my students are very intelligent, but reading below grade level. Higher-level concepts with simplified literacy are a must to keep my students engaged and motivated. Through the intensive use of visual media, we are able to tackle sophisticated concepts and bridge the gap between my students' intelligence and their ability to express that intelligence in written English.
My Project
Students will use ESL ReadingSmart to further their own learning independently while being able to track their progress and explore a deep library of materials.
I have seen incredible results when students are able to track their own progress and their own understanding at their own pace. This program will allow driven students to continue to improve their language skills while allowing struggling readers to work at their own pace in work stations.
I am confident that students will thrive when they have a chance to deal with their own weaknesses while exploring areas of personal interest at their own pace.
This program will allow students to track their learning and provide interventions that are critical for the development of my ESL learners.
