My students need a doll stroller to embellish dramatic play during centers, and the richness of liquid watercolors to use in the art and science centers.

My Students
Ernest Dimnet, wrote "Children have to be educated, but they have also to be left to educate themselves." You will find this to
be true in my prekindergarten class. Like all milestones in a person's life, knowledge is obtained and then you embrace it and make it your own.
We are active and eager to learn through play.
The children come from a diverse population which is typical of our community. They love to connect during center time, sing during group time, move during dance, all the while learning through their interactions with peers and teachers. Our families understand, appreciate and support teachers in the school. This is a place where teachers strive to offer their students what they need to do their personal best.
My Project
In my classroom a day without a doll is a day without sunshine. This group of prekindergarteners brings the classroom dolls to centers throughout the day. We all appreciate the value of dramatic play, and dolls are a wonderful way to teach and learn about the children in the class. I can just image the thrill on their faces when they find a doll stroller to use.
Who doesn't love rich, intense color when creating with art materials? Often times food color experiments in science lack a certain boldness. Liquid watercolors offer vivid color that would delight any artist or scientist.
The fulfillment of this project would bring an additional spark to center time in the classroom.
Imagine being able to take a doll for a stroll in the room, side by side with a friend. Role playing opportunities will increase. Similarity, the liquid watercolors will spur the curiosity of children wishing to express themselves in new ways.
