Help me give my students essential tools, including two iPads and a mobile magnetic board to facilitate interactive learning, a printer and ink for creating materials. This project will support two speech-language therapists at a Title 1 school.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are reaching out to transform the lives of students who need our support the most. At our school, we’re dedicated to empowering children with speech and language needs. This project will provide vital resources for two speech-language therapists, amplifying our ability to make a lasting impact.
To enhance our speech-language therapy work, my colleague and I are seeking your support.
We receive only $225 each from the DOE for supplies during the academic year, but to fully meet our students' needs, we need your help with this project. We are in need of essential tools, including two iPads, protective cases, and screen protectors to facilitate interactive learning during therapy sessions. Additionally, a printer and ink for creating materials, along with a laminator, laminating sheets, and Velcro, are critical for producing durable and engaging resources. These materials allow us to print visuals and adapt resources to support each student’s unique learning needs.
The following sensory items will help us address our students’ sensory needs, providing input that aids in regulation and refocusing for successful speech therapy sessions in both the therapy room and classroom. A sensory vibrating pillow, Theraputty, tactile kit, and handheld massager will allow us to tailor our approach to each child’s needs. Additionally, two sensory fiber optic lamps (one for the classroom and one for the therapy space), a sensory chair cushion, sensory noodles, and sensory diet cards will help create an environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
