Help ELL Students Reach Their Reading Goals

My Students

I am so blessed to work at a school that is diverse and full of different cultures. Our students receive 100 percent free and reduced breakfast and lunch. Most of my students are from different countries. One of my students didn't even speak any English when joining my classroom. I love working in a diverse low-income neighborhood because my day is rewarding, and I love being there for my students. I greet them with hugs and smiles when they come into my classroom and every day when they leave my classroom. I spend a lot of my own money to support the kids in my classroom such as buying books, pencils, tissues, paper and many other items. My school has a 67% mobility rate. My school cares about how we impact our students on a daily basis and I wouldn't want to work anywhere else!

My Project

Having an iPad in our classroom will help my students on a daily basis. I will have apps available for them to practice letter sounds, letter identification, and any differentiated activity to best fit their needs. We had 5 iPads last year and this year we had to give them back. I have seen the difference an iPad can have on learning. My students love technology and iPads are especially user friendly for ELL students because they don’t require a login so it saves them time. I am only asking for one iPad because even one iPad can make a difference in every students life!
