Help Elephant and Piggie Go to Kindergarten

Help me give my students access to the complete collection of Elephant and Piggie books. We love these stories they are hilarious and teach valuable social skills and life lessons.

My Students

I am blessed to teach Kindergarten at a Title I school and surround myself daily with excited little learners! I am lucky enough to teach two Kindergarten sessions. (That's 40+ cute kiddos each day!) These little learners come to school excited to learn and grow and it is my responsibility to provide them with ​educational opportunities to stretch their minds and deepen their understanding. Through DonorsChoose.org and district foundation grants I am trying to supply my students with the tools necessary to achieve our goals. Many of my students do not have access to books, technology, and educational supplies. I rely on donations to help and support their learning.

My Project

My kinders and I created a project last year to get the complete collection of Elephant and Piggie books in our classroom. However, by the time our project was funded the price of the collection had changed and it was no longer available. We were able to substitute some fabulous titles and are incredibly grateful for them. I would still love to add the complete collection of Elephant and Piggie titles to our classroom collection for next year's group of kinders to enjoy. Mo Willems is masterful in his illustrations and creative use of text. He tells a powerful story in so few words. This is insiprational to my young writers as they realize they do not have to write multiple paragraphs to tell a hilarious and impactful story.
