Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help my students become more than a statistic. The children in my class come from struggling homes, in a low-income community in Maryland. Almost the entire population receives free or reduced-price lunches. About 30% are English language learners from a variety of places around the world. My students are active, eager, and smart in their own ways. They know about injustice, bias, and trauma, because they have already lived challenging lives.
When my students come into my class, I try to give them a vacation from their home lives, that are often clouded in poverty, drug, or alcohol abuse, or, sadly, a lack of love and attention.
My students are pieces of my heart, and I wish I could do more for them, but there is only so much one person can do. With your generous help, I will be one step closer to giving them the childhood and youth that every single kid in our world deserves. Thank you for helping and bringing more love and joy to our classroom.
My Project
These items will add indescribable engagement to my elementary science classroom! My students love learning about their bodies, and having these models will make everything even more exciting to learn about. Students will be able to take an up close look at their skeleton, brain, heart, and more!
These models will make my classroom even more interactive with my elementary aged scientists.
Please help my students have a well-rounded science education even though they live in a bad neighborhood. They still deserve an exciting and engaging science experience. These kiddos will be the leaders of our world one day! I can't wait to see how these models inspire them!
