This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like as an elementary school child walking into your school's gym and seeing all the colorful equipment? I also want my students to see educational as well as motivational posters around their gym during their Physical Education class.
My students live in the New York City and are used to being indoors and not having many opportunities to get exercise.
They are well behaved children from low-income families. Most of my students do not have the funds to be involved in outside physical activities. This means that their only opportunity for exercise is during my Physical Education class.
My Project
Some of the posters I am requesting have motivational sayings. I believe that these words will impact many of my students by pushing them to want to do and move their body's more. The rest of the posters are educational. They get to not only hear why movement is important they can actually see on a poster why physical activity is important. These posters will benefit my visual learners!
Students go into their classrooms everyday and see many educational tools, for example, number lines, the Alphabet, and word walls.
I want my gym to be no different. I want my students to have visual learning tools to help them succeed and to be reminded everyday why Physical Education and physical activity is important.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
